Identification Requirements:

Identification policies & standards are set by the State of California. It is a violation of law for an individual Notary Public to deviate from these standards.  

For each signature being notarized, acceptable identification must be presented. The following methods of identification are considered satisfactory evidence of identification for the State of California.

Acceptable Identification (must be current & unexpired or have been issued within the last five years.) If no such ID is available and cannot be reasonably obtained, the signer may have <>TWO CREDIBLE WITNESSES present who know you and can attest to who you are.

• Drivers License or ID card issued by any US State
• Drivers License officially issued  Mexico or Canada
• Foreign Passport stamped by US INS
• US Passport
• US Military Identification
• Inmate ID  issued by the DOC for persons in custody

  Unacceptable Identification

• Social Security Card
• Credit Card
• Birth Certificate
• Temporary Driver's License
• Identification purchased on the Internet
• Consular Matricular cards
• Costco/Big Sam's Club Cards

TRAVEL & Mileage FEES

$ 20.00 + .55¢ per mile (After first 10 miles each way)
for Mobile Notary Public Service

Emergency/After 9 p.m. or Sunday/Holiday - $25
